I noticed after we were all ready to head to church we were all quit colorful!! We were easily the most colorful family at church that day!!

I'm sure I've mentioned it before but Degan has a really good group of friends that he's been friends with since preschool! and here we go again the gang is being split up, Breckan's dad works for the FBI and recently got stationed in Washington DC!! So the Turner family is heading to the big city for 18 months!! I have to admit I'm kinda jealous, how fun would it be to move to a totally different part of the US? a part were it's GREEN and there's cool places to visit!! Breckan will be missed but I'm sure he will still be Degan's #1 best friend when he gets back!!
All the mom's from the gang decided we needed to have a party for all the boys before Breckan left and we thought the mesquite pool would be a perfect place! I called a few days before the party to see if maybe we could get a group discount only to find out they weren't going to be open (panic) I called Scarlet with the bad news and it's a good thing she has connections she got permission to use Liz Adams' pool!! (the boys were super excited to go to the "mansion") It was perfect and the boys were crazy as usual!!

Champions

The Phillie's did it!! They won the championship!! I have to admit I'm not a big fan of baseball but I guess if my kid is playing I like watching any sport! mostly it was fun watching him improve, seeings how this was the first year he's ever played!! (I'm not counting t-ball) he did awesome, ya he struck out and didn't catch every ball that rolled his way but he tried and did the best he could and had a lot of fun with his friends!!
His couches were awesome Tom took him to the fields to practice batting & Dan could tell he was getting up tight when he was batting and made him do the "Degan wiggle" to loosen him up!! Can't wait for next year!

Talent Show & Play

The 5th graders do a talent show at the end of the year! Dillon signed up to do the Big Mac Rap and some other kid named Alan signed up to do it too so they did it together and talked Zach & Connor to do it with them! They did great and I was happy Dillon wanted to do something!!

Ms. Wimer's class did a cute play about nursery rhymes! Degan was one of the 3 fiddlers! he had a few lines and did great!! the only problem was he refused to change his outfit and wore it for three days straight! by the 3rd day it was looking kinda dirty!

HiHoHiHo It's off to Grandma's we go!!

It's memorial day weekend and I'm not sure why the kids are even in school at this point! Instead of sitting around our house trying to keep the kids quiet while Dad sleeps we headed up to Grandma's for some fun & to do some laundry!! My mom always makes sure there's plenty of eggo waffles for Dusty so he can eat them for every meal!! and this time she even let them swim but I'm sure she's regretting that decision when she had to jump into the pool fully clothed to save Dax from drowning!! So glad she was close by! She's fast for a 74 year old!! Other than the near drowning it was a great weekend!!

Redneck Sandcastles!

Today was absolutely perfect!! It was cloudy and cool out so the kids played and played outside all day long!! Boys have great imaginations and can make messes in minutes. They worked so hard on their sandcastles and 5 seconds after I took these pictures they were throwing mud balls at each other and jumping on the tramp!! Life with boys is crazy!!

Spiderman II

Darin took the boys to see Spider-man II at the cannery with it's fancy reclining seats! I'm not sure what Darin liked more the seats or the movie!! I'm thinking the seats because he hasn't stopped talking about them!

The Res!!

What do you do when you have a house full of boys and it's hot outside?? You head to the res!! The boys had a blast and didn't want to leave, and of course they had to play in the mud, I don't get it but they sure love the stuff! The kids got really excited when a dog that looked just like Ruger showed up, they begged me to take him home because he didn't have a collar but I assured them he had owners and was well taken care of because he was a big dog!! We named him Tank! I told the kids Ruger was just trying to say hi and wanted to let them know he's watching them and wishes he could be here to play with them!!

May Day Madness

First I have to mention my Mom & Verl they are truly rock star grandparents they have made it to all the may day dances except for last year because we moved!! This year Dillon braided the may pole and they brought tinickling back!! He did great and I got the honor of braiding the may pole with him I tried to get him to pick his Dad but he gave some sorry excuse about getting sick from walking in a circle!!
Degan did the Mexican Hat Dance which was super cute! but there was a little drama before the big day; apparently there was not going to be enough girls for all the boys to have a partner so boys were going to have to dance with boys and Degan was not happy about that because he's already girl crazy, but a bribe to buy him a few tank tops at target and he was totally OK with it. Than one of the other mom's who just so happened to be the boy Degan was gonna dance with went to the principle and made a stink about boys dancing with boys and how inappropriate it is to force them to dance together. She even called me and told me what she had done. I can see her point and in some ways I agree but at the same time I was like it's just a fun dance and so not worth making a big deal out of!! In the end there were plenty of girls to go around and Degan danced with a girl just not Regan!!
Dustin did the traditional parachute dance!! I think the parachute and braiding the may pole have been around from the beginning, for heaven's sake I did them when I was in school!!
It was a great night and so fun to watch the boys dance!

Day Camp

4-25-26 Once a year the scouts get to go to a fun day camp and pass off a whole bunch of stuff in their scout books and by the look of this picture you can tell Degan had a good time!!

California Girl

Guess who came to Vegas for a visit!! Tiff & I went into Vegas to meet up with Robyn & Chenee for dinner and a fun girls gab session that lasted until 12:00am and we didn't get home until after 1:00!! It was so worth it and so needed! There is nothing like old friends who can laugh at all the silly things you did in high school and give perfect advice for whatever you're going through now cause you know that they will always be there for you in the future!!
P.S. The getting up at 6:00am was a bad idea, I totally took a nap that day!!

Easter Palooza

4-17-2014 The parks & rec had an egg hunt out at the fair grounds. I thought about skipping it but just the mention of candy and the kids were begging to go so of course we headed down there for the festivities! They had the kids split up by ages so I just followed Dax around and he was in heaven with so many eggs just thrown onto the grass the only problem was he wanted to open every egg as soon as he picked it up he did quit get that you get as many as you can and than open them!! but whatever it was still fun!

4-19-2014 This years annual Easter get together was at Bob & Sheryl's! The kids colored eggs at Grandma & Grandpa Smith's in the morning before the BBQ! We set up tables in the garage and let the kids dye their dozen eggs, it's a good thing we were in the garage Dax & Braxton made a huge mess splashing and knocking a few of the cups over!! After the morning fun we headed over to the Hillstead's for an egg hunt, yummy food & family fun!!

Spring Break

4-16-2014 Spring break started out with Degan & Dustin staying a few nights with Ethan & Evan than Ty & Torrey came out to stay and we took them to the lake to do some swimming & a campfire! To our surprise the lake had receded so much that it left a big ol mud pit for the kids to play in! The kids had a ball covering themselves in mud from head to toe! After we cleaned up the muddy mess we ate dinner, started the fire, fixed some smores and Darin & Ty told the kids a scary story about a chupacobra! Dustin was totally freaked out and plugged his ears the whole time!! Good Times!

4-18-2014 The baby of the Spoerri family was in Cedar playing some water polo so the kids and I picked Grandma Smith up and cruised up there to watch Tristan play! I've only watched a handful of polo games so I don't quit get it but once again if somebody I know is playing it's exciting!! and Tristan did awesome scoring quit a few goals! Dax was annoying climbing on everything but it's a good thing he's cute because nobody seemed to mind getting kicked in the back or head!!
