THE BUS

Dillon & Thayne racing to get on the bus! Well it only took Dillon 2 days to get tired of riding the bus!! He came home yesterday and asked his dad if he would take him to school today, Darin said sure, but asked him why he doesn't want to ride the bus? (cause he was soooooo excited) Dillon tells him: well dad the bus drives right past the school and won't drop me off, and than he goes and picks up a bunch more kids!(talking like he's annoyed) I guess the whole getting to ride the bus to school wasn't quit what he thought it was going to be!!

Kindergarten Kid

Dillon with his teacher Mrs. Hardy Dillon ready to go to school in his favorite outfit!
Today was the first day of school for Dillon, he was soooo excited, he's been waiting for this day all summer long! He was so cute the night before planning out what outfit he wanted to wear and getting it all together so as soon as he woke up he could take a shower and get dressed (he seriously had it all figured out!) All morning long he kept asking me if it was time to go catch the bus, (I think he was more excited to ride the bus than the whole school part!) When the time came we went out and waited and waited and waited for 20 minutes and would you know it the bus DIDN'T show up, he was so bummed, So we had to take him to school and I took him to his classroom and dropped him off (and NO I didn't cry.) We told him he would be riding the bus home, so he was happy about that and when he got off he had the biggest grin on his face!! and lots of stories to tell!! He had allot of fun and can't wait to go back tomorrow!!

GO! GO! POWER RANGERS

The Blue, Red, & Black Power Rangers!!
The Power Rangers is the new "It Thing" around our house, they watched one episode and they were hooked (especially Degan) They like it so much they've assigned each member of the family a color, Dillon is Red-Degan is Blue-Dustin is Green-Dad is Black-Mom is Pink-Granny is Yellow! (Dustin is the black one in the picture only because that was the only bandanna we had left) After watching an episode today they decided they wanted to make costumes. Dillon tried to get me to sew them some outfits, but I convinced him, that would take way too long, (not to mention I don't know how to sew anything but a straight line!!) so he than decided grocery bags were just as good!! They had -FUN- running around the house doing karate on the bad guys!!

This One's For The Girls

So yesterday Dillon went to the dentist to get two small cavities filled, and when we got home he asked me if I would put a picture of him on the blog so "The Girls" could see his new fillings, so Bailee, Maicey, & Tayia here's Dillon's new fillings!!

He was so funny yesterday, the dentist was showing him all his tools and Dillon asked if it was going to hurt? the dentist of course said NO it'll just tickle! The dentist asked me if I wanted to do white fillings and Dillon intervened and said NO he wanted silver ones, he even tried to get the Dr. to put a silver crown on cause his cousin Bailee has one and he said it is SO COOL. He hooked him up to the laughing gas and started Ice Age for him to watch. He did really good through all the drilling and was even laughing!(I'm sure the gas had something to do with it) When he was done the dentist was giving him instructions to not eat anything hard or sticky for a couple of hours so Dillon asks: so can I have Gummy Bears? Dentist: No those are sticky. Dillon: Does that mean I can't have any Gummy Worms either? The Dentist had a good laugh and said it sure was nice to have a kid that enjoys going to the dentist!! On the way home Dillon told me: The dentist said it was going to tickle but it hurt a little but not to bad!! I'm not sure this is something to be proud of but I thought it was cute how he wanted it to be blogged!!

Silly Kid

This is too cute not to blog about(just look at his face!!) Degan has been potty trained for some time now and we've always taken him to the bathroom (cause you know how messy little boys can be) but lately he's been wanting to go by himself and won't tell us when he needs to go. I just happened to walk by and this is what I found!!(so that's why there's pee on the back of the toilet seat) He was nice enough to wait for me to get my camera! Thank Heaven's for little Boys!! One Last Vacation!!

We decided to sneak in one last vacation before school starts, We ended up going camping up at Big Bear Lake in California! we've never been there before so we thought we'd give it a try and Dillon's been wanting to go fishing. We left on Wednesday and after a few pit stops, a 4 hour trip turned into a 6 hour trip(why does it always take an hour to walk around wal-mart?) we finally made it after many, are we there yets? and Dad when are going to get there? We set up camp, feed the squirrels and went out to eat at this yummy Mexican joint (I highly recommend fried ice cream) When we got back to camp Darin of course had to tell the boys a few bear stories, and any little noise after that had to be a bear!! Thursday we cruised around the entire mountain looking at all the cabins and hit a few fishing spots, which Dillon had no luck catching a fish, but that didn't discourage him he kept wanting to try and would beg Darin to stop so he could try to catch a fish! (I think his Grandpa Hillstead would've been proud.) We went on a bear hunt to find the biggest bear to take a picture with, walked around the town, and the boys favorite was the Alpine Slides!! Friday morning we packed up and took the boys to a fish farm where Dillon was guaranteed a fish! he caught two, one was tiny which he named squirmy, and the other one was a 1pounder that he named spike! He had so much fun, in fact I think he would've stayed there all morning, but at $7.50 a pound two was enough. We had a good time in fact I wanna go back and stay in a cabin sometime in the winter!!

Staying cool in the pool

Having more fun in the showers than the pool! Degan in 1 1/2 ft. of water, walking on his hands thinking he's swimming!!
As you can tell by my last couple of blogs my boys LOVE being in water! this summer they have really enjoyed going to the pool or swimming at Grandma Smith's. This last weekend we went to Vegas and stayed at Tyson & Torrey's house and took full advantage of there community pool! They had allot of fun taking hot shower's than jumping into the cold pool (I haven't figured out why kids like doing that??) As soon as we left Dillon asked if he could go back again and play! Watch out Torrey- Dillon might want to move in!!!
They both have improved allot this summer, Degan puts his face in and blows bubbles and loves to float on his back, Dillon is allot more coordinated with his arms and legs and actually moves across the water! His absolute favorite is jumping off the diving board, at the overton pool, and asks almost everyday if we can go to the pool, too bad we're not rich we could put one in our backyard.

-It's Raining- It's Pouring-

It FINALLY decided to rain today!, it's been trying to rain for about a week now and we haven't seen a drop until today. I made the mistake of promising Dillon the next time it rained he could go out and play in it (those of you who know Dillon knows he doesn't forget anything) and after much begging, pleading and jumping around and me trying to bribe them to stay indoors (it obviously didn't work) I decided to let them go out and run around. They had a BLAST! doing karate and splashing in mud puddles, Dustin & I even joined in on the fun! The best part was watching my kids be kids, the simplest things make them the happiest!!

Dillon loving every minute!
Dustin not to sure he likes the rain!
Degan using a bucket for an umbrella!

Fun in the Sun!!

All of you know just how HOT it gets here, and if your gonna be outside it MUST involve water!! The new water park in moapa is our new favorite place to go, expecially when the kids have been couped up in the house and need to run around. Degan gets so excited when we tell him we're going to the splash pad, and when we get there he is constantly running from one thing to the other! and the nice thing for me is he usually wears himself out and will take a nap!!!
